LIRS Annual Report 2019

2019 saw the celebration of Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service’s 80th anniversary. Through their partnership with community based social services, LIRS resettled refugees; placed unaccompanied children in foster care; arranged for asylum seekers in immigration detention to receive comfort from pen pals and visitors; assisted congregations and individuals to understand current immigration issues and discern ways to get involved. The design for 2019’s annual report was heavily focused on photography, with images of LIRS’ service throughout the last 80 years, showcasing their longevity and commitment in a series of “then and now” photographs.
