UMBC Middle States Accreditation Self-Study Report
The project was to create a professionally designed report for use by the accreditation visiting team, as well as the campus community. The goal of the piece was to use striking imagery, data visualization, and design template consistency to create a report that is professional and visually appealing and reflective of the level of effort and detail consistent throughout the self-study process.
Along with a digital version of the report, a perfect bound book was printed digitally on an HP Indigo press for distribution among the Middle States review team and the campus community. To allow the content of the study to take center stage, photography was kept minimal in quantity, but remained impactful with full bleed images highlighting campus and student life at the start of each chapter, as well as smaller supporting images distributed throughout the book. Chapters also featured a color-coded bar tab to allow the reader to quickly navigate their way through the material. The color palette features UMBC’s signature black and gold, but also includes an expanded palette selected to highlight growth, fascination, creativity, wisdom, and energy.
